Terms of Service / EULA
These Terms govern your use of While Reader, including the desktop application, related licensing services, update services, and official website.
1. License Grant
Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use While Reader for personal or otherwise authorized use. Ownership of the software and all related intellectual property remains with Let There Be.
2. Trial and Paid Features
While Reader may offer a free trial period for new users. Paid features may be offered through a recurring subscription or a non-subscription lifetime purchase. A subscription provides access while the subscription is active and through the paid access period reported by the payment provider. A lifetime purchase provides non-subscription access to the paid features of While Reader as offered at the time of purchase, subject to these Terms.
3. Trial Preservation
If you subscribe while you still have unused free trial time, While Reader may preserve that unused trial time. If the subscription is later canceled or otherwise becomes inactive, the preserved trial time may resume for the same device, subject to abuse prevention, device binding, and technical verification.
4. Device Limits and Abuse Prevention
Trial certificates and paid licenses may include activation, device binding, device-count limits, expiration checks, and abuse-prevention controls. Licenses or trials may expire, be revoked, or be limited when required to prevent misuse, fraud, payment abuse, or violation of these Terms.
5. User Content
You are responsible for the books, documents, websites, and other content that you import or access through While Reader. You must have the rights required to use that content. The publisher does not grant you rights to third-party books, documents, websites, or voice/model content.
6. Prohibited Conduct
- Do not bypass activation, device limits, or payment controls.
- Do not use While Reader to infringe copyright or violate local law.
- Do not reverse engineer or redistribute the software except where the law expressly permits it.
- Do not interfere with update, licensing, or payment infrastructure.
7. Third-Party Services and Components
While Reader may rely on third-party services such as payment processors, app stores, update hosting, email providers, model hosts, voice engines, and open-source software components. Those services and components are governed by their own terms, licenses, and privacy policies.
8. Payments, Cancellation, and Refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscription cancellation, payment failures, taxes, and refund handling may depend on Stripe, app store rules, local law, and support review. Do not send full payment card information in support requests.
9. Updates
Direct-download versions of While Reader may offer in-app update checks and installer downloads. Store-distributed versions may instead be updated by the store or distribution platform.
10. Disclaimer
While Reader is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Let There Be disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Let There Be will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption arising from your use of While Reader.
12. Termination
These Terms remain effective until terminated. Your rights under these Terms end automatically if you materially violate them. Upon termination, you must stop using the software.
